If there is any Scottish in you then you may well
feel at home in Invercargill, New Zealand's most southern city.
- That is
because Invercargill loves its Scottish heritage. It is from here you
can venture to further destinations like
Stewart Island, Fiordland and
the Catlins.

- Oreti Beach

- There is Oreti Beach which is a good summertime spot to visit.

- Queens Park

- If you enjoy gardens then visit
Queens Park.
This park covers 80 hectares and has a wide range of different gardens
to view, with a bird aviary, animal enclosure and children's play areas.

- Anderson and
Donovan Park

- Another park and gardens is
Anderson Park
which covers 24 hectares and surrounds an art gallery located in the
old Georgian-style mansion. While enjoying the walk, there is a
duck pond and children's playground to take the kids to as well.

- Mind you, you could go across the road to
Donovan Park.
Donovan Park
has another duck pond and some lovely picnic spots.

- Get the kids legs into action and put them on wheels
with mountain biking at Sandy Point or
skateboarding
at Elles Road or try the Invercargill
skate park, located on Queens Drive just north of Queens
Drive and Tweed Street.

Invercargill Water Tower, Queens Drive and Gala Street. Not
suitable for really young children as the stairs are very steep. But
good exercise for those who can handle 112 steps to get to the top.
