Between

Puhio and visit a cheese factory with
an excellent cafe which gives the children a
wonderful time while you enjoy their great food

Whangaparaoa Peninsula
- There are many beaches along the peninsula. Some of the most popular
ones are Red Beach, Stanmore Bay Beach, Big Manly Beach
over
looking Polkinghornes Bay, Army Bay and Okoromai Bay.
Both Army Bay and Okoromai Bay are at the entrance to Shakespeare
Regional Park.
-
-
Shakespeare Regional Park is located at the end of
Whangaparaoa Road which runs the length of the peninsula. At the end
you will find a lovely beach with parking available. You can enjoy
walks around the park, however it does border the Whangaparaoa Military
Camp and access to this area is prohibited.
-
- One of the newer playgrounds can be found at the Gulf Harbour
development. Designed for slightly older children it has a nautical feel
about it.
-
- Orewa
- Orewa
Beach runs the length of Orewa and is a great swimming and running
beach. See the photo at the beginning of this page to get an idea of
the size of the beach. It is a good swimming beach, with a playground
and toilets at the southern end of the beach.
-
- Alice
Eaves Scenic Reserve is at the northern end of Orewa off Old North
Road, and is suitable for parents with younger children. It is a nature
reserve and therefore is a good place to show the children our New
Zealand
bush.
-
- A
walking track runs along from Western Reserve, which is on the
northern side of Orewa River Bridge to the southern side into Pohutukawa
Reserve.
-
- Wenderholme Regional Park is a beautiful
regional park that overlooks the Hauraki Gulf and the Waiwera River. A
great family place to visit with large open grounds and mature trees
