Russian Squares
125g / 4 oz butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
milk
125g / 4 oz brown sugar
250 g / 8 oz flour
1 cup sultanas
Method
1.    Preheat oven to 180 C (350 F). Grease a sponge roll tin.
2.    Cream butter and sugar until pale in texture. Continue to beat as you
       add egg, sifted flour and baking powder and sultanas. Add a little 
       milk at a time, until the mixture is of a spreadable consistency.
3.    Put into a greased tin and cook for 20 - 30 minutes at 180 C (350 F).
4.    Ice with lemon icing when cold. Cut into squares.
