Try these delicious recipes which the whole family will love.

Lemonade Scones

2/3 cup of lemonade

2/3 cup of cream

2 cups and 2T self-raising flour

 

 

  • Preheat oven to 220°C.

  • Place flour in a bowl.

  • Add lemonade and cream.

  • Gently fold together until just combined, being careful not to over mix. The dough should be fairly soft and sticky.

  • Place dough on a lightly floured bench.

  • Shape into a square and press out to about 3.5cm thickness.

  • Cut scones with a shape cutter or alternatively cut into squares with a knife.

  • Place scones close together on a baking tray so they are just touching.

  • Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until pale golden and cooked through.

 

Cottage Pie

5 medium potatoes, chopped

1 onion chopped finely

2 cloves garlic – crushed

1t oil 

2T Worcester sauce

600g beef mince

½t mixed herbs 

sprinkle chilli powder

6 chopped mushrooms

1 tin baby carrots

¼ cup BBQ sauce

1 cup grated cheese

2 ½t Gravox mixed with 1 ½ cups water

paprika for sprinkling on top

 
   
  • Put potatoes on to boil.

  • Put onion, garlic, oil and Worcester sauce in a frying pan. Cook until onions are translucent.

  • Add mince and cook well. Drain off excess oil.

  • Add mixed herbs and chilli powder to taste. Add mushrooms and carrots

  • Cook a further few minutes until mushrooms are soft.

  • Add gravy mixture and stir until thickened. Add BBQ sauce.

  • Preheat oven to 200°C

  • Mash potatoes.

  • Spray oven dish with cooking spray.

  • Add mince mixture and cover with mashed potatoes.

  • Sprinkle grated cheese and paprika over top.

  • Bake for 30-40 minutes or until cheese is golden.

 

Baked Apples

 

4 Granny Smith apples

 ½ cup sultanas

¼ cup brown sugar

4 gingernut biscuits

   

Remove the core from each apple, leaving the apple whole. (Try your local cooking shop and see if you can purchase an apple corer.)

  • Mix the sultanas and brown sugar together.

  • Break up the gingernuts, placing one in each core cavity.

  • Divide the sultana and sugar mixture, filling each core cavity.

  • Place in an oven dish. Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes or until apple is cooked.
