Family-friendly geothermal attraction. Walk through native bush to Birds Nest Pool's baby geyser, beautiful Inferno Crater, steaming Frying Pan Lake, newly forming silica terraces, bubbling streams, rare and unusual plants.  View hidden geothermal surprises on Lake Rotomahana. 

Sail into a volcanic crater. Cruise over the lost Pink and White Terraces.   Waimangu’s size ensures you won’t experience the crowding that too often spoils tourist attractions.  

And if the walk back seems just too hard, a free shuttle bus will return your family to the Visitor Centre.   Recharge your batteries with food and drinks at the well stocked café. Modern toilet facilities available.
