When visiting the Coromandel you may just past
through Paeroa. And if that name sounds strangely
familiar you may because it is the birth place of
the soft drink Lemon & Paeroa.
Originally mineral water was pumped from a deep well
in the local borough to the bottling factory.
However this factory is now closed due to the
introduction of the litre bottles.
It
is therefore not surprising to find a cafe with the
name 'World Famous in New Zealand Cafe and Bar' in
the township of Paeroa. You can find the cafe
on the corner of State Highway 2 and Seymour Street
and the cafe has a secure playground for children to
play in.
The
Paeroa domain is a beautiful park within 100 metres
of the main street and this park is a particular
attraction. A large recreation area is surrounded by
a wide variety of beautiful trees, which provide
much-needed shade from the sun. |
