From the Editor
I think
for a lot of us around New Zealand it has been an interesting time
with the weather doing all sorts of unusual things. Being based in
Matakana, which is near Warkworth, we were hit with the heavy rains
and winds that others suffered.
What was a miracle of this time was the fact that no one got killed.
The hardest part of it all for me, wasn’t the lack of power, of
being isolated for 24 hours (due to trees blocking our driveway and
road), but telling my children it would all be okay and they were
perfectly safe. It was one big lie! I was as scared as they were. I
wondered if our house would get blown away or the windows would
suddenly break under the pressure of the wind.
Luckily my house survived as did we, candle-lit dinners lost their
romance and the first hot shower was sheer bliss.
That brings me to a somewhat shorter version of Kids Friendly this
month; we have done our best and will be back to full strength next
month.
Oh and by the way, the Kids Friendly forum will be up and running
next month. But more about that then.
So enjoy this month
and keep safe.
Cheers
Gaye
