From the Editor

I am not sure if you are like me, but I feel like the school term has just started and yet here I am planning my first lot of school holidays for the year. I really can't believe how quickly this year is going and how quickly my little ones are growing up!

The magazine itself is now more like a teenager. We have got through those early years of growing and changing our looks, just like a newborn baby changes over time from a brand new bundle of joy to a child. Now I find that, like a teenager, keeping up with the magazine at times is a challenge. Just when you think you have got control of it, it is off doing something new and you have to catch up once again.

And it’s just like that this month as we launch our Kids Friendly New Zealand Children's Writing Club. We start the club off with an exciting writing competition for children from Year 0 to Year 6. Children can join either through their school or directly through us, provided of course they have their parents’ permission.

The club was formed to help parents get involved with their children's writing and the emphasis is on neatness and editing their work and, of course, getting children to use lots and lots of imagination.

So if you have a child who would like to be involved in the competition which starts this month, they just might win their school a new computer and themselves some fabulous prizes.

So enjoy this month and keep safe.
